ALTAR COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS​

Welcome to ALTAR Community. These Terms & Conditions outline the guidelines, expectations, and agreements that govern your membership. By enrolling in any ALTAR membership plan, you agree to abide by the following terms:

1. COMMUNITY COMMITMENTS
ALTAR is more than a space—it's a sacred, intentional community. As a member, you agree to:
- Uphold our values of belonging, sisterhood, integrity, and inclusivity.
- Engage with respect and reciprocity, caring for our physical space, online community, and fellow members.
- Practice "Collaboration over Competition" by lifting others up, celebrating success, and resolving conflict with transparency and grace.

2. MEMBERSHIP TYPES & ACCESS
Membership tiers and access benefits are detailed at altarcommunity.com/membership. ALTAR reserves the right to update offerings and pricing with 30 days' notice.
- Clubhouse Members enjoy access to the space from 9 AM – 9 PM daily, along with discounted or free admission to select programs.

3. SPACE USE & ETIQUETTE
Our physical space is a sanctuary for creativity, connection, and care.
- Treat the space and all amenities with respect. Leave it better than you found it.
- Be mindful of shared areas and noise levels. Designated quiet areas should be honored.
- No loud music before 8 PM on weekdays and 6 PM on weekends.
- Only approved guests are allowed; see Guest Policy for full details.

4. EVENTS, PROGRAMS & REGISTRATION
- ALTAR offers a variety of events, from Clubhouse Programs to public Signature Events.
- Registration is required for all events via altarcommunity.com.
- Certain programs are free for members; others may carry an additional fee or offer a member discount.
- Members may also host events through our "Come Take Up Space" program. Guidelines and booking details apply.

5. MEMBERSHIP PAYMENTS & CANCELLATION
- Memberships auto-renew monthly unless otherwise stated.
- You may cancel your membership by logging on to altarcommunity.com and managing your subscription.
- Refunds will not be issued for partial months.
- All ALTAR Memberships are applicable to a one-time $50 Onboarding Fee.​

6. ONLINE COMMUNITY GUIDELINES (HEARTBEAT)
Heartbeat is our virtual community hub. You agree to:
- Engage respectfully, maintain confidentiality, and foster constructive conversation.
- Avoid spam, solicitations, or disruptive behavior.
- Use channels as intended (e.g., #events, #resources, etc.)

7. SAFETY, SECURITY & ACCOUNTABILITY
- Members must not share entry codes or access credentials.
- Report any damage or issues to ALTAR staff immediately.
- Disrespectful, unsafe, or discriminatory behavior may result in revoked access without refund.

8. MEDIA, PHOTOGRAPHY & TESTIMONIALS
- By participating in events, you grant ALTAR permission to use group images or general footage for marketing unless you opt out in writing.
- We will never share private conversations or personal content without consent.

9. INCLUSIVITY & ZERO TOLERANCE
ALTAR is committed to maintaining a space free from discrimination, harassment, or harm.
- All women and non-binary individuals are welcome.
- Any violations of this principle may result in termination of membership.

10. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS
ALTAR reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions. Members will be notified via email and/or posted notice at least 14 days in advance.

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By participating in ALTAR programs or using the space, you agree that ALTAR Community, its team, and partners are not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage that might occur. You acknowledge that participation is voluntary and undertaken at your own risk.

12. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Whether attending an event, using shared amenities, or joining a virtual session, you understand and accept all associated risks. ALTAR cannot guarantee any specific outcomes, and you release us from responsibility for any related impact.

13. FORCE MAJEURE
Sometimes things happen outside of our control—like severe weather, public health emergencies, or building issues. In these cases, we may need to reschedule, pause services, or modify access. We’ll do our best to communicate and accommodate whenever possible.

14. PRIVACY & DATA USE
We deeply value your trust. ALTAR collects and stores only the information needed to manage your membership and communicate with you. We will never sell or misuse your data. You can opt out of promotional communications at any time.
15. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. If any serious disputes arise, they will be handled through the appropriate courts in Cook County, Illinois.
