If we are alive, we experience loss. When we are suffering, feeling grief is our response. Losing someone or something we cared about brings about grief in our mind and spirit. When it isn’t expressed, it can get stuck in our body, because the body remembers. Grief Yoga uses yoga, movement, breath and sound to release pain and suffering. This practice is not as much about physical flexibility as it is about emotional liberation. Barri will guide awareness and release through the practice in a compassionate space that helps express and release through movement, breath and sound in exercises and meditations. “My intention is to open the heart and connect to the soul with meaningful movement toward healing”. Barri is the Chief Grief Officer of The Memory Circle, where she helps community process and metabolize grief through a variety of modalities including yoga, meditation and writing.
