About the Event

Being with loss is being with life. Whether moving through moments or decades, grief can be experienced and metabolized in infinite incarnations. Ideas as individual as the loss itself. We are in a time of deep universal grieving – for lives lost now or as we knew them to be. Pieces of our daily lives have been tossed into the wild unknown and we are searching for ways amid these days to explore and name these feelings of uncertainty.

One modality that can be tremendously cathartic, is to put pen to paper or fingers to your keys. For some, words in person can be difficult—and so works on paper can become a safe and open space to tell your tale, share a secret, divulge an injustice, write a love letter or brave manifesto…even a sentence can become mantra with meaning and a practice that affords great release.

This workshop is a chance to be with whatever comes through with the help of guided meditation and inspired prompts, from author Barri Leiner Grant, Chief Grief Officer and founder of The Memory Circle.  No writing experience necessary.
