About the Event
Jewish Ecstatic Dance: The Havdalah Bridge is an ecstatic container for Jews and non-Jews alike to embody the ritual of Havdalah, between Shabbat and the week, bridging the sacred and the secular, the heightened reality of the Sabbath and the mundane of everyday life, all through the transformative power of dance. The ecstatic dance will be facilliated by Brooklyn-Based poet, DJ and Jewish embodiment teacher , founder of Lawrence DreyfussAVAR: Judaism Embodied.
We begin with an embodied warm-up easing you into the space, before delving into an ecstatic dance where we sweat our prayers, immersing ourselves in the final moments of Shabbat. The dance will feature a Havdalah ritual as we transition into the new week. Finally, we conclude with a soothing sound bath to gently usher us into the week ahead.
Come dressed to move and ready to sweat. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to reduce plastic…
