About the Event
Join Qin Coe for a special workshop that is all about embodying compassionate power and feminine sovereignty.
What’s your typical response to pressure and conflicts in life: disagreement with someone, a negative association to something, a pending deadline, a bad day...? Do you run away from the demands, fight till the bitter end, get stuck on how to proceed, or always try to make others happy? What would it feel like if you were able to remain calm and confident in the face of external challenges? How do you speak your truth without denying the truth of others? How do we embrace our feminine traits of empathy, compassion, and sensitivity in today's divisive world? Aikido is a Japanese martial art that offers a nonviolent path to harmony when you encounter aggression. It offers many exercises and principles to teach us how to deepen your body awareness, use your breath and posture to regulate your emotions, and integrate internal power to manage conflicts. You may be more aware of your body's responses to stress in your environment; You may experience what “rooted flow” feels like in your body without resorting to fight or flight; You may discover the strength and sovereignty you already have within you; You may walk away feeling much more grounded and compassionate. No prior experience with martial arts is needed. Please wear comfortable clothing and pants that cover your knees.
“I am rooted, but I flow.“ — Virginia Woolf
