About the Event
Please join these wise, compelling, and heart-centered educators and activists for a special presentation designed for the ALTAR community. Together we will learn, reflect, and call forward the compassion and courage needed to play our part in creating real and sustainable change, in ourselves and in our world.
Shakti Butler, PhD, is Founder and President of World Trust Educational Services, a non-profit transformative educational organization rooted in love and justice. Shakti is an inspirational facilitator, trainer and lecturer who has produced four documentaries: The Way Home; Mirrors of Privilege: Making Whiteness Visible; Light in the Shadows and Cracking the Codes: The System of Racial Inequity. Her current film/dialogue project, Healing Justice: Cultivating a World of Belonging, is intended to popularize a national conversation about justice, responsibility and healing. Watch short clip of Shakti here.
Surviving a hate crime and near-death experience, Amikaeyla Gaston discovered the power to overcome fear, become dauntless, and heal through music. Taking this gift to political refugees, war survivors, and at-risk people worldwide, she co-creates musical miracles. Amikaeyla ignites the belief in all who meet her that even the deepest wounds and the most devastating losses can be healed. She  is an international award-winning singer, activist, and executive director/founder of the International Cultural Arts & Healing Sciences Institute. Watch her inspiring TedX talk here.
We are so grateful to Julie Fedeli and Conversations With A Goddess for making this special program possible. We hope you'll join us!
